飞艇飞艇airship有推进装置,可控制飞行的轻于空气的航空器。飞艇由巨大的流线型艇体、位于艇体下面的吊舱、起稳定控制作用的尾面和推进装置组成。艇体的气囊内充以密度比空气小的浮升气体(氢气或氦气)借以产生浮力使飞艇升空。吊舱供人员乘坐和装载货物。尾面用来控制和保持航向、俯仰的稳定。1852年法国H.吉法尔制成一艘装有蒸汽机的飞艇。1900年德国人F.齐伯林制造了第一艘硬式飞艇(艇体由刚体骨架外罩蒙布或薄铝皮构成),它广泛用于军事,并开创了飞艇商业飞行的历史。飞艇体积大、速度低、不灵活,因而极易受到攻击。因此飞艇在军事上的应用逐步被飞机所代替。70年代以后,一些国家开始在新的基础上研制现代飞艇。英国已试制出天舟500型软式飞艇,并准备用于北海油田巡逻。
