表面活性剂表面活性剂surfactant一类具有表面活性的化合物。溶于液体(特别是水)后,能显著降低溶液的表面张力或界面张力,并能改进溶液的增溶、乳化、分散、渗透、润湿、发泡和洗净等能力。主要用于制作合成洗涤剂、乳化剂、破乳剂、渗透剂、发泡剂、消泡剂、润湿剂、分散剂、浮选剂、柔软剂、抗静电剂、防水剂等助剂。广泛用于纺织、食品、医药、农药、化妆品、建筑、采矿等工业领域。表面活性剂具有共同的特点,即分子中同时存在亲水基和亲油基(又称疏水基)。亲水基通常是溶于水后容易电离的基团,如羧酸盐、磺酸盐、硫酸酯盐等,以及在水中不电离的羟基或聚氧乙烯基。亲油基能与油类互相吸引、溶解,通常是由石油或油脂组成的长碳链的烃基,可以是脂肪烃,也可以是芳香烃。亲水基性能强,就溶解于水,反之,亲油基性能强,就溶于油。表面活性剂溶于水后,能生成单分子膜和胶束,其分子在水中能自动定向吸附于水溶液-空气的界面处,亲水基伸向水溶液,亲油基伸向空气,分子通过界面吸附形成的单分子膜在界面处起着隔离作用,使空气和水溶液的接触面显著减少,因此,水溶液的表面张力急剧下降。表面活性剂通常按离子类型分为离子型(溶于水后电离成离子)、非离子型(溶于水不电离)。
