异丙醇  (CH3)2CHOH具有特殊醇味的无色液体,沸点82.3°C,溶于水。是一种良好溶剂和化工原料,用于涂料、医药、农药、化妆品等工业,也用于生产丙酮、异丙酯、异丙胺(莠去津的原料)。是石油化工发展史上从石油原料制得的第一个化工产品。    1855年,法国人M.贝特洛首先报道用丙烯和硫酸经水合制得异丙醇,称间接水合法。1919年,美国人C.埃利斯对此进行了工业开发。1920年底,美国新泽西标准油公司采用埃利斯法建立了生产装置,正式投入生产。1951年,英国卜内门化学工业公司开始用丙烯直接水合法生产异丙醇。其后,各国相继采用此法并作了改进。    间接水合法  丙烯与硫酸反应先生成硫酸氢异丙酯,后者经水解而成异丙醇,反应式为:     CH3CH=CH2+H2SO4─→(CH3)2CHOSO3H     (CH3)2CHOSO3H+H2O─→(CH3)2CHOH+H2SO4所用硫酸浓度一般大于60%(质量),反应在2~2.8MPa和60~65°C下进行;水解在稍加压和30°C以下进行。    直接水合法  丙烯和水在催化剂存在下加温、加压进行水合反应,生成异丙醇,选择性为96%。反应式为:       CH3CH=CH2+H2O─→(CH3)2CHOH使用的催化剂有钨化合物、磷酸和离子交换树脂等,较多使用的是有载体的磷酸催化剂(见固体酸催化剂),工艺条件为2~6MPa、240~260°C。与间接法相比,此法不存在硫酸腐蚀和稀酸浓缩等问题,因而在工业生产上占主要地位。
