β-巯基乙醇分子式：C2H6OS分子量：78.13CAS号：60-24-2性质：无色透明液体，有特臭。凝固点＜100℃，沸点157-158℃（98.9kPa）稍有分解，58℃（2.4kPa），55℃（1.73kPa），相对密度1.1143（20/4℃），折射率1.4996，闪点73℃。易溶于水，乙醇和乙醚等有机溶剂，与苯可以任意比例混溶。粘度（20℃）3.43mPa·s。纯品在空气中分解缓慢，其水溶液在空气中氧化成二硫化物，在碱性和盐酸中易于分解。制备方法：早期采用氯乙醇与硫氢化钠反应制得。环氧乙烷与硫化氢按摩尔比1：3.5配合，以强碱性阴离子交换树脂为催化剂，在42℃左右反应。所得粗品含量约52%，还含少量硫二甘醇（沸点282℃），较易分离获得2-巯基乙醇。用途：作为有机合成中间体，用于农药、医药、染料、照相化学品的生产。在橡胶、纺织、塑料、涂料工业中亦可用作助剂。聚合级高纯巯基乙醇可用作氯乙烯、丙烯腈等的调取剂，以及聚合催化剂、聚合物交联剂、固化剂。该品得到美国食品药物管理局的批准，可用作丙烯腈、苯乙烯、甲基丙烯酸甲酯三元树脂制食品包装用吹塑容器时的添加剂。
