朱湘朱湘（1904～1933）中国诗人。字子沅。祖籍原为湖北，后迁入安徽太湖，生于湖南沅陵。1920年入清华学校。1922年开始在《小说月报》上发表新诗，并加入文学研究会。此后专心于诗歌创作和翻译。1925年出版第一部诗集《夏天》，作品风格纤细清丽，技巧还较为幼稚。此后，自觉追求新诗音韵格律的整饬。1926年参与闻一多、徐志摩创办的《晨报副刊·诗镌》的工作，提倡格律诗创作，努力实践诗歌音乐美的主张。1927年出版第二部诗集《草莽集》，诗作形式工整，音调柔婉，标志着诗歌创作的日趋成熟。同年9月，赴美国留学，先后在威斯康辛州劳伦斯大学、芝加哥大学、俄亥俄大学学习英国文学等课程。为家庭生活计，学业未完便于1929年回国，应聘到安庆安徽大学任英国文学系主任。1932年夏去职，飘泊辗转于北平、上海、长沙等地，以写诗卖文为生。终因生活窘困，愤懑失望，1933年12月在上海开往南京的船上投江自杀。后期的创作，较多接受外国诗歌的影响，对西方多种诗体进行了尝试。1934年出版的诗集《石门集》，其中70余首十四行体诗被称为诗集中最有价值的一部分。1936年第四部诗集《永言集》出版。除新诗创作外，还发表过不少散文随笔、诗歌批评及翻译作品。出版有散文和评论集《中书集》、《文学闲谈》，书信集《海外寄霓君》、《朱湘书信集》，译著《路曼尼亚民歌一斑》、《英国近代小说集》、《番石榴集》。
