文艺创作 人们根据对外在世界和内部心理活动的感知，运用不同的艺术表现手段，创造新的文艺作品的过程。也就是作家、艺术家运用语言文字、线条色彩、音符、体态等艺术表现手段，把自然、人和社会作为创作对象，将自己的内心感受外化的过程。文艺作品并不是复杂的社会现象在文艺家头脑中简单的、机械的反应，也不仅是表现的技巧问题。作家、艺术家易于感受什么样的生活现象，易于在什么生活现象感触下产生创作激情，并且善于用什么方式和形式表现它们，都受制于文艺家的童年经验、知识水平、文化教养、认知和情感特征及个性特征等等。所以,可以从哲学的角度来研究文艺创作,侧重于文艺创作与社会生活的关系；也可以以社会学的角度来研究，侧重于文艺创作在社会生活中的意义；还可以从心理学的角度来研究，侧重于作家、艺术家在创作过程中的心理活动规律以及影响文艺创作的心理因素。 严肃的文艺创作总是作家、艺术家出于抒发自己的感想和情感倾向、揭示社会生活运行机制的动机下进行的，这种创作动机越纯正、越强烈，创作就越有可能取得成就。这种动机的形成，首先要以对社会生活的大量感知、留心观察以及长期形象和情绪记忆的积累为基础。同时，文艺创作又不同于抽象思维，它不是凭借概念的判断和推理，而是以具体形象为基础的创造性想象过程。当然，这种想象决不可能离开抽象思维而孤立进行，它早已渗透进了作家、艺术家的分析、判断和评价。实际上，理性和感性、表象和抽象已经融为一体。这种理性与情感相结合的想象活动并不单纯是一种认识活动，它与一个人的情绪状态，与一个人的态度和体验关系极大。首先，情感是推动创作的动力。作家、艺术家是出于对生活的爱憎,出于强烈的情感冲动进行创作的。其次,情感影响人的感知。人们容易看到听到什么，感知是否深刻细致，感知过的形象能否长期保留在头脑中并经常触动自己的情感以补充和完善这种形象,都与情感有关。再者,在进行分析判断和评价时,也往往受情感的左右。另一方面，一个人的情感是在实际生活过程中，通过自己的耳闻目睹、分析评判逐渐形成的。所以，从心理学上说，文艺创作就是以感知、观察为基础，融形象、理智、情感于一体，并且不时有灵感爆发的形象运动过程。
