数控机床将走向网络化与信息化机床的信息化 随着网络技术日益普遍运用，互联网进入车间只是时间问题，这将是数字化制造的主要标志。 从另一角度来看，企业资源计划如果仅仅局限于业务管理部门（人、财、物、产、供、销）或设计开发等企业上层的信息化是远远不够的，车间最底层的 加工设备——数控机床不能够连成网络或信息化，就必然成为制造业信息化的制约瓶颈。所以，对于现代制造工厂来说，除了要提高机床的数控化率外，更要使所拥有的数控机床具有双向、高速的联网通讯功能，以保证信息流在车间的底层之间及底层与上层之间通信畅通无阻。 例如，日本Mazak公司推出新一代的加工中心不仅实现了加工过程和刀具交换的自动化，还配备一个称为信息塔（e-Tower）外部设备，包括计算机、手机、机外和机内摄像头等，能够实现语音、图形、视像和文本的通信功能。该机床与生产计划调度联网，实时反映机床工作状态和加工进度。操作者需指纹确认权限，在屏幕上观察加工过程、故障报警显示、在线帮助排除。它是独立的、自主管理的制造单元。 企业的生产计划调度系统安排一周的加工任务，发送到信息塔。信息塔向操作者发出指令，并在屏幕上显示机床的实时工作状态。操作者按照屏幕指示进行操作。遇到问题时，可随时查阅计算机中的操作手册。正常情况下，机床自动工作，操作者与机床在时间和空间上都是分离的。管理者和操作者皆配备有手机，通过手机可以查询生产工况，预计加工完成时间以及延期报告和故障报警。 机床发生故障时，屏幕会显示排除故障的方法，Mazak公司维修中心能同时看到问题所在，远距离及时提供帮助，尽可能减少机床的停机时间。新一代数控系统 德国Andron公司的最新产品是新一代基于微机的、在Windows平台上的开放式数控系统。 它采用由两个Intel处理器，通过PCI-PCI桥进行相互通信。一个处理器承担数控运算（NC计算机），另一个作为人机界面计算机。NC计算机中插有NC CPU卡、NC机床卡。NC机床卡与数控驱动装置连接，并通过2块带PCI桥的总线卡与人机界面计算机通信。人机界面计算机的内部总线卡与数控系统操作面板和外部接口连接。人机界面计算机的CPU卡控制触摸式LCD显示屏以及计算机外设和网络通信。 传统的数控系统是将编程系统的数字信号转换成为电压模拟信号，再以电压的大小控制驱动电动机的转速，事实上仍是模拟量控制。
