莲莲Nelumbonucifera睡莲科莲属宿根水生植物。又称荷花、荷、水芙蓉等。莲原指其果实,匀称莲蓬;后花、实都泛称为莲。其地下茎的肥大部分称藕。中国南北各地广泛种植,武汉、杭州等地的品种尤多。莲喜相对稳定的静水,忌涨落悬殊和风浪较大的流水,水深一般不宜超过1.5米。生长季茎叶最适温度为25~30℃。要求日照充足,不宜长期在室内栽培。土质以富含有机质的粘壤土为宜。莲子寿命特别长,千年古莲子仍能萌发新株。莲以分株繁殖较常用,也可播种繁殖。均宜在春季转暖后进行。莲的主要病害有腐烂病、叶斑病等,虫害有蚜虫、金龟子等。砌池植莲,并依水建立桥、榭,构成观荷景区,是中国式园林的传统手法,各地名胜风景,均广泛应用。也适用于点缀庭园水面,净化水体,或作盆栽。藕和莲子营养丰富,生食、熟食均宜。藕可加工成藕粉、蜜饯等。莲子有安神作用,常作汤羹或蜜饯,为中国民间滋补佳品。荷花花瓣、嫩叶可佐食。莲各部分均可入药。荷花
