等熵压缩技术  当作用在物体表面的脉冲载荷呈缓慢加载,而且在整个测量时间内受压物体内的压缩波还没有演化成具有陡峭波阵面的冲击波的时候(见固体中的冲击波),物质内部的受压过程是等熵的称等熵压缩。    目前,有两种产生等熵压缩的主要方法,一种是磁场压缩技术,另一种是斜波发生器。    磁场压缩技术  典型装置见图1。它是由电容器组向线圈放电,以便在柱形空腔中产生初始强磁场。当系统工作时,先由雷管引爆高级炸药,用以驱动柱壳形飞片朝柱轴方向飞行。由于飞片是用良导体制成的,在飞片向柱轴飞行的过程中,腔内"拘捕"的初始磁力线不易漏失到飞片中,故腔内磁力线会随飞片向内运动而不断受到"压缩",从而增强了腔内磁场强度。在上述过程中,靠近飞片附近的磁力线总是首先受到压缩,但是由于电磁场的扰动是以光速传播,它远远大于飞片速度,故可以认为被压缩磁场"瞬时地"在整个腔内达到平衡。由于压强 p与磁感应强度B的平方成正比(p=B2/4π),故在飞片飞行过程中所引起的磁感应强度的变化会使中心试件受到不断增强的压力作用而处于等熵压缩状态。     斜波发生器  一种能把具有陡峭阵面的冲击波改造成弥散状阵面的压缩波整形器,以削弱冲击波阵面上粘性和热传导损耗所导致的熵增影响,而实现等熵压缩过程(图2)。制成斜波发生器的材料,其物态方程大致应满足以下条件-2<Г(v)<1/3,  式中Г、v 分别为格临爱森参数 (见固体状态方程)和比容,某些玻璃陶瓷能满足上述条件。实践中,通过改变制成斜波发生器材料的厚度,可以调整压缩波的上升时间。其值一般在几十纳秒到数百纳秒的范围内变化。
