观象台观象台位于中国北京东城建国门立交桥西南角。初名司天台，后称观星台，清改名观象台。20世纪30年代，中国建立现代天文台后，逐渐称此为北京古观象台。北京古观象台夜景观象台建于明正统年间，正统十一年(1446)形成以紫微殿为主的建筑群，具现在所看到的规模和布局。明代在观象台陈设的天文仪器有浑仪和浑象、简仪、圭表、漏壶等7件。清代采用欧洲天文学度量制和仪器结构，制造并安装了天体仪、赤道经纬仪、黄道经纬仪、地平经仪、象限仪（地平纬仪)、纪限仪、地平经纬仪、玑衡抚辰仪8件仪器。1900年，八国联军入侵北京，观象台的天文仪器被洗劫一空，后又归还。1931年，其中明制的7件仪器迁往南京，陈列于紫金山天文台和南京博物院。8件清制仪器留在观象台。从明正统初年起，到1929年止，观象台连续从事观测近500年，在世界现存的古观象台中，保持着连续观测最久的历史纪录。观象台今为北京天文馆的一部分，并发展为古代天文博物馆。是中国全国重点文物保护单位。
