计算机综合集成制造系统计算机综合集成制造系统computerintegratedmanufacturingsystem将制造工厂的全部活动所需的各种自动化系统有机地集成，以获得高效率、高柔性的生产系统。简称CIMS系统。1973年，美国学者J.哈林登提出了CIM的概念，它的主要内容是：①产品生产的各个环节，即从市场分析、产品设计、加工制造、经营管理到售后服务的全部生产活动是一个不可分割的整体。②整个生产过程实际上是一个数据采集、传递和加工处理的过程，最终形成的产品可以看作是数据的物质表现。这两个观点成为以后CIMS的核心内容。在提出这种需求的同时，自动化技术、信息技术、系统工程技术和人工智能技术等也取得飞速的发展，为实现生产经营模式的改变提供了技术支撑。利用这些技术的最新成就，把以往孤立的、局部的自动化子系统，在新的管理模式和工艺流程的指导下，综合集成为一个完整的系统，对生产过程的物质流、管理过程的信息流和决策过程的决策流进行有效的控制和协调，以适应在新的竞争模式下，市场对生产和管理过程提出的高质量、高速度、高灵活和低成本的要求。到80年代，CIM和CIMS已成为制造工业的核心技术之一，同时人们也认识到：CIMS不只是多项技术集成的结果，也是工程、管理和制造密切配合的结果。CIMS系统是经营管理决策系统、计算机辅助设计系统、柔性制造系统和计算机辅助制造系统的集成。其实现途径是：利用先进的计算机软、硬件环境，将过去已独立发展起来的计算机辅助设计（CAD）、计算机辅助制造（CAM）（包括柔性制造系统（FMS）、管理信息系统（MIS）、决策支持系统（DSS）等成果综合为一个从产品定货、产品设计、产品制造和管理直至市场分析和销售的高度自动化的系统。CIMS的关键技术有4种：①计算机网络技术。CIMS是一个复杂的、集成的、建筑在计算机局域网上的复杂系统。因此，各子系统间的互通、互联（甚至还有互操作）的功能就成为构成CIMS的关键技术。②数据库管理技术。CIMS内数据量庞大，种类繁多，对数据的传输速度，数据的完整性、一致性都有严格的要求。因此，必须在各子系统的数据库管理系统上构成全局的数据库管理系统，从而实现在全系统间的数据高速、安全的传送，数据共享和实时的数据更新。③分布式数据处理技术。由于CIMS系统的庞大、复杂和地域分散，因此，只有采用分布式的数据技术能保证实现子系统间的程序共享。④人工智能技术。为了发挥综合自动化和人机结合的潜在效益，在CIMS中必须充分利用各种决策优化、专家系统和智能接口等技术。
