泾河泾河黄河的三级支流。在中国陕西省中部。源出宁夏回族自治区南部六盘山东麓,有南北两源:南源出泾源县老龙潭,北源出固原大湾镇,两源流至甘肃省平凉市八里桥汇合,东南流经泾川,于杨家坪进入陕西长武县,东南流到高陵县陈家滩汇入渭河。全长455.1千米,流域面积4.54万平方千米。支流众多,主要有马莲河、蒲河、黑河、马拦河、泔河等。流域年平均降水量550毫米,主要集中在夏季。径流年内分配不均匀,洪、枯水流量相差悬殊,1933年8月5日张家山站最大洪水流量9200立方米/秒,1977年4月15日最小流量只有1.94立方米/秒。多年平均年径流量24.4亿立方米。流域内水土流失严重,年平均含沙量141千克/立方米,最大含沙量1430千克/立方米。古人说“泾浊渭清”,只从相对意义上说泾河含沙量比渭河含沙量高。中华人民共和国建立后,对泾河流域进行了治理、开发,上、中游修筑水库和开展大规模水土保持工作,下游开挖和扩建渠道工程。泾惠渠改建了渠首大坝,增加了引水量,扩大了下游灌溉面积。
