辉长岩辉长岩gabbro一种基性侵入岩。灰黑色,具等粒状辉长结构。主要由单斜辉石和基性斜长石组成,两种矿物含量近于相等;其次含少量角闪石、橄榄石、黑云母等。随着碱性长石含量的增多可过渡为二长岩。根据化学成分划分为钙碱性辉长岩和碱性辉长岩两大类。通常所说的辉长岩是指钙碱性辉长岩。gabbro一词于1810年为L.von布赫引用,显然,是根据意大利托斯卡纳Gabbro镇取名的。与之有关的矿产主要为铁、钛、铜、镍、磷等,细粒均质的辉长岩可作优质建筑石材。
