刘店镇刘店镇位于伏牛山余脉东麓,淮河北岸,确山县城东部,确(山)汝(南)两县交界处。镇人民政府驻地刘店村,西距京广铁路、107国道11公里,京深高速公路纵穿全境。全镇总面积150平方公里,耕地面积96865亩。辖18个行政村,283个村民组,5万余人。刘店镇历史悠久,据《确山县志》记载,刘店始名六家店,集镇始于盛唐,至今已有1200多年的历史。1983年改建刘店乡人民政府,1997年10月,经河南省人民政府批准,撤乡建镇。刘店镇还富有光荣的革命传统历史。1927年11月1日, 由抗日民族英雄杨靖宇领导的震惊中外的刘店秋收起义就发生在这里,并在此建立了豫南第一个红色革命政权──确山县革命委员会。境内的“刘店秋收起义指挥部”旧址文昌宫、清诏使范滂墓及年代在300万年前的后胥山古脊椎动物化石遗址,属省级重点文物保护单位。
