中空玻璃  两片或多片保持一定间距并周边密封的平板玻璃,其片间充以干燥空气或惰性气体和放置吸湿剂。按其成型工艺分为玻璃直接熔接、用铜作隔离条焊接和用铝等作隔离条并靠胶粘剂粘接三种;按制品结构分有双层中空玻璃和多层中空玻璃等。    熔接法和焊接法因其生产工艺复杂,已很少采用,现在主要是用粘接法生产中空玻璃。最广泛应用的粘接剂是聚硫橡胶类胶粘剂。此外,还发展了用特制的铝窗框、弹性密封胶圈、干燥剂和粘接剂制作装配式中空玻璃窗的新工艺。    中空玻璃由于玻璃层间保持有一定厚度的干燥空气或惰性气体层,具有良好的保温、绝热、隔声性能,在寒冷地区的门窗不结露、不结霜而保持透明,并可大量节约空调及采暖能耗,阻碍室外噪声的传入,使室内居住舒适。    中空玻璃的透光系数:双层为 0.7~0.74;三层为0.6~0.64。各种玻璃窗的传热系数比较见表。      采用吸热玻璃、颜色玻璃、热反射玻璃、选择吸收玻璃及光致变色玻璃等制成的中空玻璃,除改善采光和绝热性能外,还能进一步收到降低空调和采暖能耗、调节光线、增加防眩、单面透视可省去窗帘等效果。有些国家已规定新建住宅必须采用和老住宅改用双层中空玻璃。因此,近年来中空玻璃发展迅速,应用广泛。中空玻璃除主要应用于工业和民用建筑外,还用于机车车辆、航空指挥塔楼、边防观察哨所等。
