同步电机同步电机synchronousmachine电机转子转速与旋转磁场转速相同的交流电机。同步电机的磁极一般由直流电流励磁。励磁绕组的电流较小,通常将其装在转子上,通过装在转轴上的集电环和电刷引入励磁电流。电枢绕组往往是高电压、大电流的绕组,通常装在定子上,便于直接向外引出。某些特殊的小型同步电机则将磁极放在定子上而将电枢绕组放在转子上。同步电机的电枢绕组一般做成三相,单相的较少。同步电机的重要优点在于通过调节电机的励磁电流,可以调节电枢电流的相位,改变电机的功率因数。电枢电流随励磁电流而变化的V型曲线表明,在一定的有功功率下,电机的电枢电流有一最低点。此点相当于功率因数为1.0,对应的励磁电流为正常励磁电流。当励磁电流大于正常励磁电流时,发电机将向电网输出滞后于端电压的电流;电动机则自电网吸收超前于端电压的电流。当励磁电流小于正常励磁电流时,发电机将向电网输出超前电流;电动机则自电网吸收滞后电流。所以通过调节同步电机的励磁电流,可以随意调节其输入(出)电流的相位及功率因数,以满足电网的要求。现代的火电厂、水电站、核电站几乎全部选用同步发电机。同步电机在作电动机运行时必须设置专门的异步起动绕组。与异步电动机相比,同步电动机结构较为复杂,价格也贵,但是具有较高的功率因数。不要求调速的大功率机组常用同步电动机传动。
