木薯木薯Manihotesculenta大戟科木薯属多年生亚灌木。又称树薯。为热带和亚热带地区重要的粮食和饲料作物,与马铃薯和甘薯并称为世界三大薯类作物。木薯原产热带美洲。16世纪传入非洲,18世纪传入亚洲,现已广布于南北纬30°之间的热带和部分亚热带地区。主产国为巴西、泰国、扎伊尔、印度尼西亚、尼日利亚和印度等。中国于19世纪20年代引种,现在淮河秦岭一线以南、无霜期在8个月以上、年平均气温16℃以上的地区多有栽培;而以广东、广西种植较多。图片茎直立,木质,高1~3米。块根肉质,圆锥形、圆柱形或纺锤形。叶纸质,互生,掌状深裂,裂片披针形、椭圆形或线形。圆锥花序顶生或腋生,单性花,雌雄同株;也有些品种不开花。蒴果球形,种子褐色,光滑有斑纹。适应性强,耐旱、耐瘠,在平原、荒坡、山地或丘陵,不论砂土或粘土上都能生长。以气温25~29℃、年降水量1000~1500毫米且分布均匀的温暖湿润环境为最适。木薯一般用种茎扦插繁殖。鲜薯易变质腐烂,收获后应尽快加工成淀粉、干片、干薯粒等。生长期间的主要病害有病毒病、细菌性疫病、褐叶斑病和枯萎叶斑病;主要虫害有螨类、蓟马、地老虎、白蚁等。鲜薯(块根)约含淀粉25%~35%,是热带地区的重要食粮,也可用以制浆料、酒精、果糖、葡萄糖、味精或塑料纤维、塑料薄膜、涂料和胶粘剂等。叶片营养丰富,可作猪、蚕、鱼等的饲料。茎秆可造纸,也可作燃料或用于培养木耳。木薯各部分都含氰酸,有毒,其含量因品种、施用的肥料和气候条件而异。鲜薯肉质部分经浸水、干燥等去毒处理后方可食用或饲用。
