微球菌科  细菌的 1科。本科细菌为革兰氏染色阳性、接触酶阳性、好氧或兼性厌氧的球状细菌。直径0.5~3.5微米,具有 1个以上的细胞分裂面,运动或不运动。无休眠时期;营呼吸或发酵代谢,如作用于葡萄糖则产酸不产气;营养要求多样化,都可在5%氯化钠培养基中生长,有些还能在含10%~15%氯化钠的培养基中生长;DNA中的G+C克分子含量为30%~75%。    1929年,E.普里布拉姆建立了微球菌科。本科现包括微球菌属、葡萄球菌属和动性球菌属3属,其鉴别特征见表。    微球菌属  不运动的专性好氧细菌,仅能以氧化方式从葡萄糖产酸,细胞直径0.5~3.5微米。属内有 3种,多见于土壤和水中,也见于人和动物的皮肤上。为非致病菌。模式种为藤黄八叠球菌。    葡萄球菌属  不运动的兼性厌氧细菌,发酵葡萄糖产酸不产气。细胞直径为0.5~1.5微米。属内有3种,多见于人和动物的皮肤和粘膜,有的是重要的化脓菌。模式种是金黄色葡萄球菌。    动性球菌属  能运动的革兰氏阳性好氧细菌,不从葡萄糖产酸。仅有1种,即柠檬色动性球菌,见于活水中。
