魏源魏源(1794~1857)中国晚清思想家。原名远达,字默深,一字墨生,又字汉士。湖南邵阳隆回人。晚年信佛教,法名承贯。嘉道之时,清朝已入衰世,魏源以天下为己任,讲求经世之学,力图以此谋求国富民强,从而成为晚清学术的开风气者。他由习王守仁心学而改从今文经学,论学以“通经致用”为宗旨。对于充斥朝野的考据学风和理学的性理空谈,皆加贬斥,提出了“变古愈尽,便民愈甚”的变法主张。道光初年,魏源曾先后任江苏布政使、巡抚幕僚,主持《皇朝经世文编》纂辑事宜,对海运、水利诸政多所建言。鸦片战争爆发,魏源一度应钦差大臣裕谦聘,入浙江参赞军务。兵败,感愤时事,撰成《圣武记》14卷。又遵友人林则徐嘱,据林所主持译编的《四洲志》,参以历代史志及两人记录,辑为《海国图志》50卷,后续增至100卷。《海国图志》率先介绍西方各国历史地理状况,主张学习西方的先进科学技术,提出“师夷长技以制夷”,是中国近代向西方寻求救国真理的先行者之一。道光二十五年,魏源得中进士。之后,曾任知县等职,官至高邮州知州。咸丰七年(1857)三月,在杭州僧舍病故。有经学、史学、文学、佛学著作多种存世,1976年,中华书局集魏源诗文杂著合为《魏源集》刊行。图片
