生产方式生产方式production，modesof社会生活所必需的物质资料的谋得方式，在生产过程中形成的人与自然界之间和人与人之间的相互关系的体系。它是历史唯物主义的基本概念。生产方式包括生产力和生产关系两个方面，是两者在物质资料生产过程中的统一。生产力是生产方式的物质内容，生产关系是生产方式的社会形式。在马克思主义经典著作中，生产方式概念在不同场合还用以指：①人们保证自己生活的方式。②生产力的利用形式。③生产力和生产关系之间的中间环节。④人们利用什么样的劳动资料进行生产以及生产规模的大小。⑤生产关系。人与自然界之间的关系，表现为人类征服和改造自然的物质力量，即生产力；人与人之间的关系，即人们的生产关系。这两个方面相互联系、相互作用，人与自然界之间的关系决定人与人之间的关系，人与人之间的关系又反过来制约着人与自然界之间的关系。生产方式是人类社会发展的决定力量：生产方式是人类社会赖以存在和发展的基础；生产方式决定社会制度的性质，制约着整个社会生活、政治生活和精神生活的过程；生产方式决定社会制度的更替；生产方式是划分社会类型的基本标志。在人类历史上，从低级到高级依次经历原始共产主义的、奴隶制的、封建制的、资本主义的、共产主义的5种生产方式；以此为基础，人类历史也相应地划分为5种社会类型。人类社会的历史，归根结柢是生产方式依次更替的历史。
