渭南普照寺渭南普照寺(元代建筑博物馆)位于陕西渭南城东北10公里昝村镇吴村,建在10余米高的古寨堡之南端。占地面积4453平方米。居高临下,颇有虎踞高山之势。渭南普照寺始建于元延右三年(1316),渭南普照寺主体建筑是大佛殿,殿前左右配列伽蓝庙和护法庙,殿东有土地庙,西有关公庙,殿庙之间有拱门,殿后有观音洞并禅院。大佛殿雄伟壮观,单檐歇山顶,面阔5间,进深6椽,墙厚面向上收分,檐柱藏在墙体之中,柱头稍露,前檐当心间开门,次稍间檐墙正中上部均开窗口,安装直棂格窗,恰似蒙古包形。殿内有钟形佛龛,天花板上作藻井,计130幅佳作,形象生动,栩栩如生。渭南普照寺龛内有5尊彩色泥塑大佛像,中间是佛祖释迦牟尼,在工字莲花须弥座上跏跌而坐,通高4.2米,左右侍立着阿难和迦叶。两边是文殊、普贤两位菩萨,盘膝坐于莲花须弥座上。渭南普照寺1988年、1989年两次国家拨款扩修后更加宏伟壮观,现为陕西省重点文物保护单位。
