硝化棉 硝酸纤维素实际上是纤维素的硝酸酯，它是以精制短棉绒为原料，用硝酸、硫酸的混合酸进行酯化，使纤维素中的-OH基酯化成－ONO2的产物。根据纤维素中3个-OH基酯化程度的不同，就可得到不同含氮量的CN，随着酯化程度增大，台氮量升高，三硝酸纤维素的理论含氮量为14．14％。不同含氮量的硝酸纤维素有着不同的溶解度和用途。塑料用的含氮量为10．5-12．3％，胶粘剂和涂料用的为11．5％-12．2％，火药用的为11．8％-13．5％。硝酸纤维素的聚合度n＝100-3500，分子量为16200-875000。 CN为白色或微黄色絮绒状固体，无臭、易燃 、易爆，相对密度1.58-1.65，熔点160-170 ℃，闪点12．78℃，自燃温度170℃，折射率1．51。不溶于水，易溶于酮、酯、醇、醚类溶剂，硝酸纤维素对碱很敏感，容易发生皂化而脱硝。长期在光和热作用下能分解并降低含氮量。硝酸纤维素主要用于配制溶剂型胶桔剂，粘接赛璐珞塑料制品和火药。配制火棉胶。由于硝化纤维素性质很不稳定，易燃易爆，当温度超过40 ℃时能加速分解而发生自燃。含水25％时较安全，因此在贮运时加入30％左右的乙醇或水为湿润剂，以增加稳定性。使用前应将硝酸纤维素的水烘干，要特别注意安全、最好使用水烘箱，如果用电烘箱温控一定要可取，烘箱门不得关死，防止爆炸。中间观察时人不得面对烘箱开门，以防发生意外。 贮存于阴凉、通风的专用库房内，温度不超过30℃，远离火种和热源。
