空间环境模拟器 模拟宇宙空间环境的设备。用于试验航天器耐真空、冷黑、太阳辐射、磁场和承受高能粒子辐射、太阳风和微流星体等的能力。空间环境模拟器技术复杂，研制费用颇巨，但为了提高航天器的可靠性，自60年代以来各国已建造了数千台不同类型的空间环境模拟器。由于技术上的原因，一台空间环境模拟器只能模拟一种或数种环境。现代最大的空间环境模拟器直径达20米、高37米，可把整个"阿波罗"号飞船放进去试验。美国、日本、苏联都建有类似的大型空间环境模拟器。中国于1964年建成第一批空间环境模拟器，1976年建成大型的KM-4空间环境模拟器，可供通信卫星、广播卫星、气象卫星等各种应用卫星进行空间环境模拟试验。主模拟室直径 7米、高12米、总容积400立方米，极限真空度优于5.3×10-3毫帕（4×10-8毫米汞柱），热沉温度低于95K，吸收系数大于0.92，配有辐照直径4米、由19 个卡塞格林系统组合的太阳模拟器。 主要的空间环境模拟器有热真空环境模拟器、空间动力学模拟器、空间组合环境模拟器等。 热真空环境模拟器 用以模拟真空、冷黑和太阳辐射 3项宇宙空间基本参数（见热真空试验），用于进行航天器的热真空试验和热平衡试验。用于载人航天器时还应附加空气锁和应急复压系统等装置，以供航天员和试验人员出入、监视和急救之用。（见彩图） 空间动力学模拟器 一种大型低真空模拟系统，模拟器中配备有精密转台、激振系统和测试、观察、记录装置等辅助设施，用于对整个航天器和大型结构进行旋转、展开、动力学特性测定以及火箭整流罩分离等试验（图1）。 空间组合环境模拟器 一般为多种环境组合的中、小型试验设备。模拟的环境包括太阳辐射、紫外线、电子、质子、太阳风、极高真空、冷热交变、等离子体等，用于对航天器零、部件和材料的研究与检验试验。中国研制的高精度小太阳无油超高真空空间模拟器即属于这一类型（图2）。
