茚 一种稠环芳烃,分子式C9H8。其分子中的苯环和环戊二烯共享两个相邻的碳原子。茚为无色液体;熔点-1.8°C,沸点182.6°C,相对密度0.9960(25/4°C);不溶于水,能与乙醇或乙醚混溶。茚分子中含有化学活性很高的烯键,容易发生聚合反应或加成反应。香豆酮-茚树脂就是茚与香豆酮的共聚物(见聚合物)。茚在室温下即可聚合,加热或在酸性催化剂存在下,能使聚合速率急剧增加。茚催化加氢(见催化氢化反应)生成二氢茚。茚分子中的亚甲基与环戊二烯分子中的亚甲基有相似的地方。茚与金属钠作用生成钠盐,与醛酮缩合(见缩合反应)生成苯并富烯:茚在工业上由蒸馏煤焦油所得轻油馏分中分离获得。
