毛细流动 表面张力起重要作用的液体流动。植物体内的水分输送、液体在多孔介质中的流动、涟波以及现代热管中的液体流动都属于毛细流动。 气-液和固-液交界面上都有作用于液面单位长度上的表面张力,由此产生液面两边的压强差p1-p2,此压强差又称为毛细压强。根据系统总自由能为最小的原理,可以导出毛细压强的一般表达式: 式中σ为表面张力;R1和R2是液面任意两正交方向上的曲率半径。由上式可以看出,有限曲率的液面以及液体表面张力的逐点变化(见界面扰动)都会影响液体的流动。在流体力学运动方程中补充表面张力项并结合连续性方程和边界条件就可计算毛细流动的速度和掌握各种因素对它的影响规律。此外,由于温度场造成液体表面张力的逐点变化而引起的热毛细流动,以及表面活性物质和化学反应对液体流动的影响都是在实际应用中常见的现象。在大雷诺数时,粘性力与惯性力相比很小,就可忽略表面活性物质对液体流动的影响。
