碳纤维增强塑料  碳纤维与各种树脂复合而成的高级复合材料。碳纤维是用粘胶丝、聚丙烯腈纤维和沥青丝等原料在1000~3000℃温度下碳化而成的(见碳化高分子),分为高强型(强度大于250千克力/毫米2,模量大于2.5×104千克力/毫米2,密度约1.7克/厘米3)和高模量型(或称石墨纤维,强度大于200千克力/毫米2,模量大于4.0×104千克力/毫米2,密度约1.98克/厘米3)两种。碳纤维直径细,在7微米左右,工艺性较好,但不耐高温氧化,并且与树脂粘合性差,必须进行表面处理。    碳纤维增强塑料主要用于航空、航天工业;还可用于体育器材,如网球拍、滑雪板、弓、赛车、赛艇等;目前并试用于制造汽车的主承力部件,如弹簧钢板、传动轴等。
