大气消光大气消光atmosphericextinction天体辐射穿过大气到达地面后强度减弱和颜色变化的现象。产生大气消光主要有两个原因：一是大气中各种分子和原子吸收辐射，使辐射能转变为其他形式的能量；二是大气中的气体分子、尘埃和水滴等质点将来自某方向的辐射散射到四面八方，从而减弱了天体辐射的强度。大气消光与大气的成分、辐射的波长和辐射穿过大气的厚度有关。通常蓝光所受的消光作用比红光严重，辐射穿过大气层的厚度增加，消光作用也加剧。因此，天体的天顶距越大，大气消光影响越大。地面天文测光的结果要作大气消光改正，从而得到天体辐射的真实情况。
