二苯碳酰二肼分子式C13H14N4O分子量242.28CAS140-22-7白色或浅粉红色结晶性粉未,溶点170℃。露置空气中逐渐变为红色。微溶于水(~0.024g/100ml),不溶于醚,溶于乙醇、丙酮等其它有机溶剂。溶液比固体易氧化,逐渐变为黄和棕色。试剂和多种金属发生有色反应:Ag+(紫)、Ni2+(蓝)Pb2+(橙蓝)。试剂与CrO42-的反应机理至今还不完全清楚,有人认为是二苯碳酰二肼由CrO42-氧化为二苯缩氨基脲,后者再与Cr3+形成络合物。所形成的络合物阳离子与Cl-结合成离子对,可为戊醇萃取。Cu2+、Fe2+、Hg+、Hg2+、Se4+和TcO4-与试剂反应的原理类似于CrO42-的反应,即氧化还原和络合反应。对测定铬(Ⅵ)几乎是特效的,用作汞和铝盐滴定Cl-、Br-、I-、CN-、SO42-的指示剂,也可用于检定Cu2+、CrO42-、Fe3+、、Hg2+、MnO42-、VO3-和H2O2。避光、密封保存。
