《画史汇传》  中国清代编写的一部历代画家人名辞典。一作《历代画家史汇传》。彭蕴璨编著。彭蕴璨,字朗峰,长洲(今江苏省苏州市)人。主要活动于道光(1821~1850)年间。    《画史汇传》全书72卷,共载历代各类画家7500余人。    该书卷首为"国朝圣制",编入清代善画帝王附善画宗室;卷一为"古帝王门",编入历代善画帝王;卷二至卷六十一为"画史门",编入各代画家;卷六十二为"偏阙门",编入逸其姓而存其名或仅以字行世的画家;卷六十三为"外藩门",编入历代中国少数民族画家及来华外国画家;卷六十四、六十五为"释氏门",编入各朝僧侣画家;卷六十六为"后妃门",卷六十七至七十二为"女史门",编入历代女画家。书前有石韫玉序及著者例言。"画史门"与"女史门"为此书的两主要部分。编排画家次序,是以姓氏隶属于韵部,依韵部而排列姓氏先后;而在同一姓氏之下,则依时代为序,颇便于寻检。    此书采用史书、方志、画史、文集、笔记等前人著作达1200余种,收集材料至勤。画家小传中间有考证,偶附论画之语,尚具心得。它是《中国画家人名辞典》出版以前查找画家小传的主要工具书。然因卷帙浩繁,沿袭前人错误及遗漏之处亦复不少。又因贪多务得,对采录画家所持标准未免失之过滥,如嫘(舜妹)、周勃、关羽、张飞等,居然也都收入书中。
