硅灰石硅灰石wollastonite成分为CaSiO3的单链结构硅酸盐矿物。其低温变体α-CaSiO3有两种多型,三斜晶系多型TC即自然界常见的硅灰石,单斜晶系多型2M称副硅灰石,自然界产出较少;高温变体β-CaSiO3形成于1126℃以上,称环硅灰石或假硅灰石,属三斜晶系,自然界罕见。硅灰石为三斜晶系,晶体呈板状,并常呈纤维状集合体。白色或带浅灰、浅红色调。玻璃光泽或珍珠光泽。解理完全。莫氏硬度4.5~5.5。比重2.75~3.10。熔点1540℃。绝缘性能好,有良好的化学稳定性,耐酸、耐碱、耐化学腐蚀,但在浓盐酸中分解形成絮状物。为典型的变质作用产物。通常产于接触变质带,亦见于区域变质的碳酸盐建造中。硅灰石是新兴的、为多领域应用的工业矿物,主要作为陶瓷原料;其次是用以制造涂料和颜料,在塑料和橡胶工业中用作填料,用以制水泥和轻质、抗压、隔热、绝缘建筑材料;在土壤改良、农肥、环保和造纸工业中也有广泛的应用前景。
