禅【禅】 （术语）禅那Dhyana之略。译曰弃恶，功德丛林。思惟修等。新译曰静卢。属于色界之心地定法也。今于欲界人中发得之，谓之修得。生于色界而发之，谓之生得。思惟而修得之。则名为思惟修。成就之之心体，即为寂静，有能如实虑知所对之境之用。故名静虑。弃恶，功德丛林之名，以其结果之功能而名之者，是亦一种定心之法，故虽时翻为定，而定之梵名，为三昧或三摩地，总为心一境性所附之名也。又禅宗之禅，其名虽取思惟静虑之义，而其体为涅槃之妙心，非谓色界所属之禅。(参见：禅定)。智度论十七曰：“诸定功德都是思惟修。禅，秦言思惟修。”法界次第曰：“禅是西土音，此翻弃恶，能弃欲界五盖等一切诸恶，故云弃恶，或翻功德丛林，或翻思惟修。”大乘义章十三曰：“禅定者别名不同。略有七种：一名为禅，二名为定，三名三昧，四名正受，五名三摩提，六名奢摩他，七名解脱，亦名背舍。禅者是其中国之言，此翻名为思惟修习，亦云功德丛林。”慧苑音义上曰：“禅那，此云静虑，谓静心思虑也。旧翻为思惟修者，略也。”
