防辐射混凝土 用于屏蔽X、у及中子射线的混凝土,也称防护混凝土或重混凝土。它是原子能反应堆、粒子加速器及其他含放射源装置常用的防护建筑材料。防辐射混凝土是用增加混凝土容重的方法来提高对X和у射线的屏蔽能力，并用水泥石或集料中所含的结晶水来使高速中子慢化。为了提高混凝土的容重，防辐射混凝土一般都采用重集料（如含铁质矿石、重晶石以及铁砂、钢段等）。混凝土容重一般在3500公斤/米3以上，用钢段为集料制作的混凝土，容重可达5500公斤/米3。在必要时还可使用钡水泥、锶水泥等高比重的特种水泥。防辐射混凝土各组成材料间的比重相差较大。为了防止在施工过程中发生离析并能获得良好的密实效果，一般在灌筑时要求采用灌浆法等特殊措施。 氢原子核对高速中子具有良好的防护作用，而水含有较多的氢元素，因此，防辐射混凝土要采用结晶水含量高的材料来制作。为了提高结晶水含量，可采用高铝水泥和石膏矾土膨胀水泥等作胶结料。有些防辐射混凝土中还掺入含硼及含锂的掺合料或集料，以提高对中子的吸收能力。
