王充王充(27~约97)中国东汉思想家。字仲任。会稽上虞(今浙江上虞)人。少时受业洛阳太学,师事班彪。历任县、郡功曹,州从事、治中等职,后辞官家居。汉章帝曾特诏公车征聘,因病未行。晚年生活潦倒。王充在哲学上认为物质性的“元气”是构成天地万物的基本元素,“天地合气,万物自生。”他否定天人感应说:“夫人不能以行感天,天亦不随行而应人。”在伦理思想上,王充认为,道德起源于人类物质生活的进步。他赞成管仲“仓廪实则知礼节,衣食足则知荣辱”的观点,说:“谷足食多,礼义之心生,礼丰义重,平安之基立矣。”他主张人性有善有恶,但强调人性可以通过教育而改变:“论人之性,定有善有恶。其善者,固自善矣;其恶者,故可教告率勉,使之为善。”王充是先秦以后对中国古代逻辑有贡献的思想家,他较全面地阐述了论证问题。他提出的基本论证规则是:切忌“失之所对”,偷换概念,转移论题;不能“首尾相违”,自相矛盾;要文显言明,“言无不可晓,指无不可睹”。著有《讥俗》、《政务》、《论衡》、《养性》,仅存《论衡》。其思想对以后唯物主义思想的发展很有影响。
