机床机床machinetools对金属或非金属材料的坯料或工件进行加工,使之获得所需要的几何形状、尺寸精度和表面质量的机器。机床是制造机器的机器,又称工作母机或工具机。公元前2000多年出现了树木车床。15世纪,出现了人力驱动的螺纹车床、齿轮加工机床和水力驱动的炮筒镗床。中国明代的《天工开物》中载有磨床的结构。1774年,英国的J.威尔金森发明了能加工蒸汽机汽缸的较精密的炮筒镗床。1797年,英国的H.莫兹利创制了能机动进给和车削螺纹的车床,引起了机床结构的变革。此后各种类型的机床相继问世。1952年,美国研制出数字控制机床;1958年出现了能自动更换刀具以进行多工序加工的加工中心。机电一体化伴随微电子技术与机床工业的结合而迅速发展。机床通常包括金属切削机床、特种加工机床、木工机床和锻压机械。其中金属切削机床数量最多,使用最广。金属切削机床可按各种方式分类:①按机床的加工方式和加工对象分为车床、钻床、镗床、磨床、齿轮加工机床、螺纹加工机床、花键加工机床、铣床、刨床、插床、拉床、特种加工机床(如电火花加工机床)、锯床和刻线机等。②按机床的使用性能分为通用机床(又叫万能机床,加工范围广,适用于单件小批量生产)、专门化机床(用于加工形状相似而尺寸不同的特定工件,适用于批量生产)、专用机床(用于加工某一特定工件的特定工序,适用于大批量生产)。③按重量分为仪表机床、中小型机床(重量小于10吨)、大型机床(重量在10~30吨之间)、重型机床(重量在30~100吨之间)、超重型机床(重量在100吨以上)。④按机床的工作精度可分为普通精度机床、精密机床、高精度机床及超精密机床。⑤按自动化程度可分为手工操作机床、半自动机床和自动机床。龙门刨床加工中心立式钻床组合机床平面磨床升降台铣床普通车床卧式镗床立式车床外圆磨床弧齿锥齿轮铣齿机插床滚齿机小型精密机床
