中国古代韧性铸铁件  韧性铸铁亦称可锻铸铁,是古代生铁铸件中的重要品种之一。它是用白口铁在较高温度下经过长时间退火(900℃, 3~5天),使脆硬的碳化铁分解,析出絮状石墨,从而使硬而脆的生铁变为韧性较好的制品。如果铸件表面脱碳而中心部分仍为白口铁,则为韧化处理不完全的韧性铸铁。迄今所知世界最早的韧性铸铁件是洛阳出土的公元前 6世纪战国铁铲。    战国中期以后,韧性铸铁已在燕、赵、魏、楚等国的广大地域内广泛应用,如湖北省大冶铜绿山出土的战国晚期铁斧和河北省易县燕下都 44 号墓出土的战国晚期铁??、六角锄、都具有韧性铸铁的组织。在河南省巩县铁生沟"河三"、郑州古荥"河一"遗址以及渑池、南阳等汉代冶铸遗址出土的大批铁器中,也都发现了韧性铸铁农具和工具。    汉代对韧性铸铁能更合理地选用,如南阳瓦房庄遗址所出的铁农具,经检验的12件中有 9件是韧性铸铁,而手工工具、兵器等则没有发现韧性铸铁;铁生沟出土的铁器,经鉴定为韧性铸铁的农具、工具占检验铁器总数的20.5%,满城汉墓出土的铁铲(2:003)、铁镢(1:4397)等都是采用了可锻化热处理得到的白心韧性铸铁器。汉代的韧性铸铁件质量相当稳定,其退火石墨多呈典型的团絮状,且分布均匀。一般对需要较好耐冲击性和较高强度的斧、凿、锛等手工工具,需选用基体含碳较高的韧性铸铁,而对要求较高韧性和较好耐磨性的铲、锄等农具则选用基体含碳不多的韧性铸铁。渑池汉魏窖藏的犁铧(166号)等器物也是韧性铸铁件,说明此时韧性铸铁得到更广泛的应用。直到唐代仍偶尔使用韧性铸铁农具,但以后再无发现。欧洲韧性铸铁的发现最早见于1722年出版的著作中,中国韧性铸铁的发明及使用比欧洲早了2200多年。
