日本专利情报组织专利情报检索系统 原由1971年6月1 日建立的日本专利情报中心(简称JAPATIC)运营。1985年8月1日与日本发明协会合并，成立日本专利情报组织 (简称JAPIO)。该系统是一种联机系统(简称PATOLIS)。 该系统采用HITAC M-200H、M-240H、M-280H作为中央处理机，外存约5万兆字节。数据库收有约2 500万篇专利文献记录,由以下7个日文文档组成：日本专利文档(1955年1月起)、日本实用新型文档(1960年1月起)、日本未审查专利申请文档(1971 年7月起)、日本未审查实用新型文档(1971年7月起)、日本外观设计文档(1965年1月起 )、日本商标文档(1902年起)、 美国专利文档(1968年1月起)。此外，还设有一个英文版专利数据库，收录有1976年以来日本未审查专利申请的英文文摘记录 180万篇。 该系统可提供以下几项服务：①利用分类号、关键词或技术用语、申请人代码等进行检索；②通过申请号、公开号、专利登记号提供查询服务；③利用优先权项目检索同族专利等。该系统在日本各地设有汉字和假名终端1000多台，通过通信网或电话线路提供联机检索服务，也可利用美国系统发展公司(SDC) 的书目情报分时联机检索系统(ORBIT)提供日本英文专利检索服务。
