中国社会科学院哲学研究所 中华人民共和国的哲学理论研究机构。原名为中国科学院哲学研究所。它以马克思主义基本原理为指导,系统地研究和发展马克思主义哲学，探讨科学发展和社会主义现代化建设中提出的重大哲学理论问题，研究中国哲学和外国哲学的历史及其发展，研究美学、伦理学、逻辑等分支学科的理论问题、历史及其对社会发展的作用。 该所筹建于1955年春，筹委会由潘梓年、胡绳、冯定、李达、杜国庠、杨献珍、艾思奇、金岳霖、冯友兰、赵纪彬等学者组成。1955年 9月底正式成立，隶属于中国科学院哲学社会科学学部，潘梓年任所长，下设辩证唯物主义、历史唯物主义、中国哲学史、西方哲学史、自然辩证法、逻辑学六个研究组。出版刊物有：《哲学研究》、《自然辩证法研究通讯》和《哲学译丛》等。"文化大革命"期间该所的科研业务中断，1976年10月后恢复研究工作。1977年后隶属于中国社会科学院，许立群任所长。1982年起，邢贲思任所长。为了促进哲学科学的发展，1977年将原有的研究组扩充为研究室，又陆续新增了马克思主义哲学史、毛泽东哲学思想、现代外国哲学、伦理学、美学等五个研究室和东方哲学研究室。 全所1985年7月底实有研究人员195人，其中高级研究人员71人。该所从1956年开始招收研究生；1978年开始招收硕士研究生；1981年10月经国务院学位委员会第三次会议通过，辩证唯物主义与历史唯物主义、外国哲学史、现代外国哲学、美学、逻辑学、宗教学等六个专业可以招收博士学位研究生，这六个专业的博士生指导教师分别为邢贲思、赵凤岐、夏甄陶、贺麟、杨一之、王玖兴、汝信、陈元晖、李泽厚、沈有鼎、周礼全、王明。 1978年中国共产党十一届三中全会以来，该所的哲学研究出现了新的气象。据1984年底统计，全所出版专著91部、译著47部,还有大量的论文、译文和资料;1982年开始编辑《中国哲学年鉴》。这些成果对推动学术活动和中国社会主义精神文明建设起了一定的作用。 该所图书馆1985年 7月底藏书184513册（卷）。其中有中文平装书70902册；线装古籍56670册，包括善本书77种，1111册；外文图书 35445册；此外，还藏有国内出版的全部哲学刊物和 300多种世界各地出版的外文哲学刊物。
