随机点立体图 为研究主体视觉而制作的一对由随机点组成的图片，是美国贝尔实验室的B.朱尔斯1960年首先用计算机制成的。直接观察，它们并没有任何图形线索，若用左眼看左图、右眼看右图，当两眼的象融合为一个时，就可看出立体的图形，即产生了深度知觉。用这种方法观察图1时,即可看出图的正中有一个小方块浮在上面。制作原理以图1为例,先用计算机制作两张完全相同的随机点图，再将左边一张图的中间的一个方形少许向右移动，造成交叉视差,如图2所示。这样,观察时可见一方块浮于背景之上。如果方块向左移动,造成非交叉视差，方块就会沉到背景下面。在一定限度内，方块移动越大,造成的视差越大,其深度感也就越强。由于图1上的小方形每一点的视差均相同，所以浮在背景上的方块看起来是个平面。也可以用这一原理设计出在背景上呈现的立体图形，如圆锥体等。随机点立体图对的运用为立体视觉的研究做出了贡献，而且为视觉信息加工过程的研究提供了新的方法。中国学者制作了随机点立体图对，用它研究了双眼立体视觉的信息加工，并用它制成了检查双眼体视锐度的图册。（见彩图）
