蚜茧蜂科 膜翅目姬蜂总科的1个科。小型；翅脉常减退,无缘室；腹部第2、3节之间能活动；寄生于蚜虫的细腰亚目蜂类。本科昆虫通称蚜茧蜂；全世界已知有35属,400余种。中国已知有4个亚科，18个属，100余种。此科广布世界，以古北界和东洋界较多，中国是蚜茧蜂资源最丰富的国家。蚜茧蜂种类都是蚜虫的体内寄生蜂，是一类重要的天敌昆虫，目前国内外已应用于防治一些重要的蚜虫。中国的重要种类有：麦蚜茧蜂、高粱蚜茧蜂、甘蔗绵蚜虫蜂、桃瘤蚜茧蜂、少脉蚜茧蜂、燕蚜茧蜂、菜蚜茧蜂等。 产于中国的有4个亚科,18个属：①全脉蚜茧蜂亚科(Ephedrinae)。②外蚜茧蜂亚科(Prainae)。 ③原蚜茧蜂亚科(Aclitinae)。④蚜茧蜂亚科(Aphidiinae)。 蚜茧蜂雌性成虫体长一般为1.0～2.4毫米，少数种类可达3～3.5毫米，体色呈黄褐色至深褐色。前翅仅一回脉，有径室1～3个，后翅仅一基室。腹部具柄，着生于并胸腹节下方，后足基节之间。唇基端缘凸出，不与上颚形成口腔。雄性体略小，触角节数比雌性多，腹部呈椭圆形。卵产于蚜虫体内，微小,一般只0.08～0.1毫米，宽0.016～0.024毫米，呈柠檬形或纺锤形，乳白色。幼虫：乳白色,蛆形,有4个龄期。1龄幼虫头部大,具1对明显的上颚及细长的尾突,体表具刺毛；2龄幼虫尾突短，体毛稀少；3龄幼虫尾突消失；4龄幼虫肥短。蛹：离蛹，呈黄褐色或褐色，化蛹在蚜虫体内的圆形薄丝茧中，但外蚜茧蜂属却结茧化蛹于被寄生的蚜虫体外之下方的茧中。
