螽斯科螽斯科Tettigoniidae昆虫纲直翅目螽斯科的通称。体型大小不一,体躯纵扁或近圆柱状(见图)。触角30节以上,丝状,比体长。翅的变异较大:发达、缩短或消失。在有翅种类中,雄性发音器位于左前翅之臀域,常略呈圆形,周围围以弯曲而发达的翅脉,中横贯粗脉,作为音剉;右前翅基部为光滑而透明的鼓膜,当二翅相互摩擦时,而共鸣发音。前足胫节基部两侧具有开口式或闭口式的听器。后足腿节十分发达。跗节4节。产卵器十分发达,呈剑状或镰刀状。该科分17个亚科。世界已知约1万多种,中国仅知200多种,估计约有500种以上,其中纺织娘(促织)和蝈蝈为人所熟知。分布几乎遍及世界各地,但多数种类分布在热带和亚热带地区。主要栖息于丛林、草间,亦有少数种类栖息于穴内、树洞及石下等环境中。多数种类产卵于植物茎干内、裂缝中或茎叶的表面上,亦有少数种类产卵于土中。食性复杂:有植食性、肉食性和杂食性等多种类型。植食性种类多对农林牧业造成不同程度的危害;肉食性种类除在柞蚕区内可对养蚕业造成一定的危害,在其他地区则可作为害虫的天敌加以利用。螽斯属于渐变态,一个世代经历卵、若虫和成虫3个虫态,多数种类以卵越冬。草螽斯
