水螨水螨watermites蜱螨亚纲真螨目的一个类群。大部分属于辐螨亚目的水螨群，主要栖息在淡水中。另一部分属海螨科，主要栖息在海水中，也有一部分在淡水中生活。水螨体长0.3～3毫米，体躯球形或圆盘形，也有扁平的。一般背面凸出，而腹面扁平。体色多呈红、橙、青、绿等单一颜色，或栗色中有黄、白等斑点，但在静水中的种类则为暗色。体壁为薄几丁质，其上有坚硬的板，板上一部分有感觉毛。水螨的若虫和成螨捕食各种水生昆虫和虫卵以及其他无脊椎动物；幼螨寄生在昆虫上。水螨的发生可作为监测水质污染的生物指标。
