塞内加塞内加(约公元前4～公元65年)Seneca，LuciusAnnaeus古罗马剧作家。生于西班牙。受过很好的修辞学教育，对哲学也颇有兴趣，是晚期斯多葛派的代表。他官至元老，公元41年被流放科西嘉岛，49年被召回，成为皇储尼禄的教师。54年尼禄即位后辅佐朝政，62年退出政界，65年因涉嫌反尼禄阴谋受命自杀。他一生撰写过不少伦理哲学著作，写有一篇讽刺散文《克劳狄乌斯变瓜记》和《疯狂的赫拉克勒斯》、《特洛伊妇女》、《美狄亚》等9部悲剧，此外还有《奥克塔维亚》一剧也记在他的名下，现在一般认为此剧系他人仿作。他的所有悲剧都取材于希腊神话，用以反映现实，抒发自己对人生的看法。剧中人物富有激情，通过长篇独白或明快、犀利的简短对白来表达，往往带有修辞式浮夸成分。对后代西欧悲剧创作有影响。
