凉水自然保护区位于黑龙江伊春带岭林业局以北26km处,总面积121.33km2。建于1980年,境内峰峦起伏,主山脉多为南北走向,最高峰为本区北部的岭来东山,海拔707.3m,向南逐渐降低至本区的西南端永翠河北岸,海拔280m,全区海拔为400m左右。主要河流为凉水沟(河),是永翠河的最大支流之一,支流有常年流水的向阳沟、缶风沟、长春沟以及许多季节流水的小溪流。具有明显的温带大陆性季风气候特征。保护区内红松具有很高的科研价值,也是兴安岭所有的林木中最珍贵树种,从1953年到现在前后已有数十项关于红松的研究项目,成果显著。
