摩尔摩尔mole物质的量的单位。符号mol，国际单位制(SI制)7种基本单位之一。摩尔是一系统物质的量，该系统中所包含的基本微粒数与12克12C的原子数相等。使用摩尔时的基本微粒应予指明，可以是原子、分子、离子及其他粒子，或这些粒子的特定组合体。1971年前，普遍采用克分子、克原子、克离子、克当量等作为物质的量的单位，所用含义相类似的单位太多，因此，第十四届国际计量大会正式通过，统一采用摩尔为物质的量的单位，并指定为基本单位。摩尔以0.012千克12C中所含的原子个数为基准，来衡量其他物质中所含的基本微粒数的多少。根据实验测定，0.012千克12C中含有6.023×1023个碳原子，这个数值恰好是阿伏伽德罗数。因此1摩尔就是6.023×1023个微粒的集体，从这个意义上说，物质的量是以阿伏伽德罗数为计数单位，来表示物质的基本单元数目多少的物理量：①1摩尔12C含有阿伏伽德罗数个12C原子；②1摩尔水含有阿伏伽德罗数个水分子；③1摩尔OH-含有阿伏伽德罗数个OH-；④1摩尔电子含有阿伏伽德罗数个电子。摩尔是一个数量单位，而不是质量单位，但一定数量的物质必然具有一定质量，如1摩尔水的质量是18克。如果把摩尔和质量两个概念联系起来，则1摩尔物质的质量称为摩尔质量。一定数量的气态物质必然具有一定的体积，实验测定，在标准状况(压强为1×105帕，温度为273K)，1摩尔的任何气体所占的体积都是22.414升，这个体积称为摩尔体积。
