不整合不整合unconformity上下两套不同时代地层之间出现过沉积间断或地层缺失的地层接触关系。地层不连续，古生物演化顺序也是不连续的，由此确定岩层的时代也是不连续的。地层剖面中的岩层是现存的地层部分，而不整合则是缺失的地层部分。不整合一般分为角度不整合和假整合（又称平行不整合）等类型。前者是两套地层呈一定角度接触，中间为一侵蚀面（即不整合面），说明在前一套地层沉积后，有一次大的构造运动和海陆变化，然后地壳再次下沉又沉积了后一套地层。后者是两套地层大体呈平行接触，中间为一侵蚀面（即不整合面），说明在前一套地层沉积过程中有一次较大的地壳上升或海退运动以后地壳再次拗陷，沉积了后一套地层。识别和鉴定不整合的证据：①地层自然记录缺失的间隔证据，包括古生物自然记录的间断和地层自然记录的间断。②侵蚀的证据，包括构造不一致和地形不规则。③古陆表面的证据，包括风化面、古土壤、底砾岩等。不整合研究具有广泛意义，它是造山幕建立或构造旋回划分、岩石地层单位划分的重要依据。
