鼻疽  由鼻疽假单胞菌(Pseudomonas mallei)引起的单蹄兽传染病。以在上呼吸道粘膜、肺、皮肤或其他实质器官中形成鼻疽结节和溃疡为特征。是一种古老疾病,许多国家史书上都有记载。世界性分布。通常在马呈慢性经过,在骡、驴呈急性经过。食肉兽如狮、虎、狼、犬、猫等吃含鼻疽菌的马肉后可被感染。人在实验室里操作不慎或接触病畜也能被感染,并多呈急性经过,所以也是一种人畜共患疾病。在自然条件下,牛、羊、猪不感染鼻疽,但曾有过骆驼患鼻疽的报道。根据临诊症状,可分为肺鼻疽、鼻鼻疽和皮鼻疽3种病型,后二者因症状和病变可以看见而称为开放性鼻疽,其传染力比肺鼻疽更强,也易诊断。慢性鼻疽缺乏全身性症状,生前检查只有依靠变态反应或血清学试验。鼻疽变态反应是用鼻疽菌素作点眼或眼睑皮内试验,病畜呈脓性结膜炎和眼睑肿胀的阳性反应,非病畜呈阴性反应。血清学试验主要是采用补体结合试验。实验室诊断还可以采用细菌分离培养、动物接种和病理学检查。用鼻疽病料给雄性豚鼠作腹腔接种时,能产生施特劳斯氏反应。目前对鼻疽尚无免疫方法,只能通过检疫、隔离和扑杀或治疗开放性病马的措施加以控制。许多国家已消灭了鼻疽,在中国则尚待进一步控制和消灭。磺胺类药物和抗生素(金霉素、土霉素)对急性鼻疽有显著疗效。人类鼻疽过去往往是致死性的,现在也可治疗。
