作物品种审定 即对新育成或引进的品种，根据品种区域试验结果和小面积生产表现，审查评定其推广价值和适应范围。实行品种审定制度，有利于加强对作物新品种的管理和合理推广。 组织体制 作物品种的审定工作一般由国家机关或权威性组织主持。美国和加拿大是由州种子生产者协会负责审定，通过一定的刊物将经审定通过的品种名称公之于众。德意志联邦共和国新品种的使用，由育种者向联邦品种局提出申请，经品种局试验、鉴定、登记，列入国家品种目录后，才准繁殖生产种子。日本主要作物新品种的审定、命名和登记工作，由农林省组织的农业资财审议会审定后，呈报农林大臣认可。中国的品种审定工作由全国性或省级农作物品种审定委员会负责。委员会的主要任务是根据品种区域试验结果和小面积生产情况，评定新育成或引进品种在农业生产上的应用价值、适应地区，并对其示范、繁殖、推广工作提出建议。 审定程序 区域试验是品种审定的基础。根据中国现行的试行规定，凡品种经试验证明其综合性状优良、产量比当地同类型主要推广品种的原种高10％以上且表现稳定或品质、成熟期、抗逆性等一至数项性状有突出表现能满足生产需要者，可以报审。其程序是先由选育（引进）单位或个人申请，主持区域试验单位推荐，然后由品种审定委员会审定。报送时要附有品种来源，选育经过，完整的区域试验资料，品种的特征、特性及品质分析鉴定资料，品种植株、果穗、果实子粒的照片和实物标本以及栽培技术要点说明，并需备有一般为50亩以上播种用的不带检疫性病虫害的原种种子。经审定通过的品种,其命名由选育单位或个人提出建议,品种审定委员会审议决定,然后统一编号、登记、正式公布,发给品种审定合格证书。未经审定或审定未通过的品种，不得推广。
