腐泥化作用 低等生物在滨海沿岸、湖泊、沼泽开阔水域的底部缺氧环境下,经生物化学降解作用转变成腐泥的过程。腐泥是富含水和沥青质的淤泥状物质,视矿物质含量的多少而为腐泥煤或油页岩的前身,当腐泥质为主时形成腐泥煤,当矿物质(粘土)为主时则转变成油页岩。腐泥经成岩作用形成腐泥褐煤,再经变质作用转变成腐泥烟煤以至腐泥无烟煤。 形成腐泥的原始物质以藻类和水生生物(特别是漂浮植物)为主。有利的堆积转化环境是滞水缺氧的还原条件,介质为弱碱性(pH值为8左右),在厌氧细菌参与下,植物遗体发生腐烂分解,消耗了有机质中的氧,富蛋白质的腐泥分解产生大量的氨,并形成氨基酸,植物分解的产物经合成作用形成富氢、富氮、缺氧的沥青产物。因此,腐泥煤在干馏过程中,有相当高的挥发分和焦油产率。 腐泥化作用进行到一定程度即被新的沉积物覆盖埋藏,藻类的原生结构大部分被保存下来,形成藻煤。腐泥化作用进行比较彻底时,则生物的原生结构完全消失成为腐胶质,转变成均一结构的胶泥煤。腐泥化过程中混入高等植物,主要是稳定成分,如孢子、花粉、树脂、树蜡等转变成腐殖腐泥混合煤,当孢粉含量远超过藻类时形烛煤,孢粉含量与藻类相当时,则形成烛藻煤或藻烛煤。 腐泥化作用发生在覆水较深的条件下,向岸边浅水环境过渡,随着水生植物被陆生高等植物代替,腐泥化作用被泥炭化作用所取代。自然界腐泥煤的分布常呈透镜状层出现在煤层底部。堆积在湖沼深水部位的腐泥,容易混入大量粘土,经埋藏后转变成油页岩。
