农业气象灾害  由于不利气象条件的出现而使农业生产遭受损失的自然灾害。在古代,农业气象灾害曾对人类造成巨大灾难。古希腊的柏拉图把"火与水"即干旱与洪涝,看做导致人类毁灭危机的主要原因。中国历史上也是水旱灾害频仍,不但农业生产和人民生命财产因而遭受严重损失,也是许多朝代社会动乱的重要原因之一。即使到了近代,气象灾害仍对农业生产构成巨大威胁,如严重的干旱使非洲地区的农田受到毁灭性摧残;而由不利的气象条件在世界范围内造成的经常性农业减产更难以数字计。不仅如此,农业气象灾害还会间接诱发病虫害,如旱害招致蝗害,春雨过多引起小麦赤霉病流行等。    农业气象灾害因地因时对不同作物有不同影响,如几天无雨,对水稻可形成旱象,对玉米则可能无害,而对粟却可能有利。农业气象灾害与灾害性天气不尽相同,前者与农业生产对象紧密联系;后者虽可能危及许多国民经济部门,但有些灾害性天气对农业生产却往往既有害,也有利,例如台风的狂风暴雨对农业生产有害,但在某些地区伏旱期间,台风带来的大量降水能减轻甚至解除旱象。    农业气象灾害按气象要素可分为单因子和综合因子两类。由温度因子引起的有冻害、霜冻、冷害、寒害、热害和日灼等,由水分因子引起的有旱害、水涝害、雪害和雹害等,由空气因子引起的有风害(见风)等;属于多种因子综合影响形成的有干热风、风雨害等。每一种灾害因发生机理、发生季节和天气特点等的差异,又可划分多种类型,如冷害常分为延迟型、障碍型和混合型,或分为湿冷型和干冷型;霜冻分为辐射型、平流型和混合型,或分为秋霜冻和春霜冻等。
