双河洞中国第一长洞——双河洞双河溶洞位于贵州省绥阳县城东北面50公里处的桂花村,距历史名城遵义90公里,处于著名的宽阔水原始森林自然保护区的东部边缘,距黔北著名的绥阳温泉仅9公里。该洞是座水洞、旱洞并存、结构复杂的巨大洞穴系统,到目前为止已探明有四层洞、五条地下河、22个洞口,总体呈网络状。洞深(相对高度)达240米左右,洞高一般在10米以上,最高60多米;洞内竖井众多,最深达75米,一般都达15-30米。洞内环境良好,空气中二氧化碳含量一般在350-400ppm,温度一般常年恒定在13-15摄氏度,湿度85-98%。双河洞主要形成于白云岩及白云质灰岩地层中,地表沟深壁峭,山峦叠嶂,地貌景观壮丽,森林覆盖率大于60%,区内气候属于中亚热带湿润季风气候,小气候差异明显。双河溶洞长度中国第一,但地形复杂,很多洞尚未开发。1987年至今,贵州省山地资源研究、贵州省洞穴协会及日本、法国的专家们先后对该洞进行了5次考察,发现了石膏洞、卷曲石群等世界罕见的洞内景观。
